Simone Biles has dropped another hint about her Olympic future.
After earning four medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, many Americans are eager to know whether the star gymnast will again go for gold at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Biles, who at 27 years old is considered an older gymnast, has previously addressed the possibility of competing in the LA Olympics.
“Everyone wants to know this question. I’m like, ‘Can’t I live?’” Biles said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
After being named Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year, the decorated gymnast didn't fully rule out participating in the upcoming Olympics but made it clear she no longer needs to prove herself in the sport.
“I’ve accomplished so much, there’s almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again – and for what? I’m at a point in my career where I’m humble enough to know when to be done,” Biles told Sports Illustrated.
The 11-time Olympic medalist, who married NFL star Jonathan Owens in 2023, also suggested that it would be "greedy" for her to return to the big stage.
“If you go back, you’ll be greedy. Those are the consequences. But that’s also your decision to decide. What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you’re younger, it’s like, prom, college. Now it’s like, starting a family, being away from my husband. What’s really worth it?”
